Beverly Wilshire

An experience to remeber

Beverly Wilshire

Since opening in 1928, the legendary property has been the preferred address for celebrities, royalty, and the international elite and it’s easy to see why. Located at the intersection of Wilshire Boulevard and Rodeo Drive, put you in the enviable heart of Beverly Hills, with designer shopping, fine dining, and postcard-worthy views at your doorstep.

Because of its reputation as ultra-luxurious, the hotel features a long list of unmatchable amenities that include a Michelin-starred restaurant run by none other than master chef Wolfgang Puck, a pool modeled after one in a 1500s Roman villa, a stunning and award-winning spa, and services as diverse as business services, concierge, currency exchange, pet services, parking, and more.

The exterior is imposing and decorous but not especially elaborate, with striped awnings lining up on the ground floor denoting various high-end outlets. The lobby really sets out the hotel’s luxurious stall, with its shining marble floors, and grand staircases and if there are such things as ‘destination flower displays’, then this is where they reside. The standards are timeless, ridiculously tasteful and somehow encapsulate Old Hollywood and contemporary LA all at once.

Accommodations

The hotel has nearly 400 rooms, of which 137 are suites. If you want to live like Hollywood royalty, definitely check out the Wilshire Presidential Suite with its colonnaded entryway (and filming location for Pretty Woman). There are balconies in practically every room and all come with free Wi-Fi, thick terry cloth robes, and an in-room app that controls all guest service needs. Naturally, the rooms are all a good match to the luxuriousness of the premises and visitors can choose from a stunning array of options. There is rooftop “glamping” for those who want a night beneath (and above) Hollywood’s stars, suites that range from penthouse options to premium guest rooms that offer excellent views, large and spacious floor plans with a separate sitting room and desk with iHome docking, a large marble bathroom with signature toiletries, room services, and Wi-Fi among other comforts.

* Guest Rooms: Spacious guest rooms at Beverly Wilshire come with an Italian marble bathroom, complimentary internet, and an array of luxurious amenities.

* Signature Suites: Ideal for privacy or extended stays, the suites offer a comfortable residential feeling combined with the luxurious amenities of a five-star hotel.

Restaurants

The Beverly Wilshire is home to some of the most remarkable restaurants in Los Angeles including Michelin-starred CUT Restaurant, Wolfgang Puck’s twist on the traditional steakhouse, and THEBlvd, a classic all-day dining spot with exclusive views of Rodeo Drive.

CUT Restaurant by Wolfgang Puck

CUT, uber-chef Wolfgang Puck’s steakhouse at the Beverly Wilshire hotel, has been a star-studded success since its opening and even managed to steal some of the limelight (and customers, perhaps) from nearby sibling Spago Beverly Hills. Within its walls, you find a microcosm of the movers and shakers of Los Angeles, from financiers to producers to aspiring actors. The sleek look of this modern and elegant spot came from prominent architect Richard Meier, who also designed the Getty Center. The two-level layout features sleek lines, an exhibition-style kitchen, and ever-changing art pieces on the walls.

There is an innovative menu, yes, it’s based on meat, but meat whose preparations and sauces require expertise. Before you make a selection, lots of explanations are provided and raw cuts of meats are brought to the table to help you decide. Start with Kobe steak sashimi, asparagus with a poached egg, and bacon vinaigrette, if available. Also worth considering are the seasonal salads, which might include a white corn salad with wild arugula, tomatoes, feta, and goat yogurt “tzatziki.” Then you have a choice of several selections of beef in different cuts or lamb or chicken from the rotisserie. The Kobe beef short ribs with Indian spices is a must since the difficult balance of hot and sweet is perfect. Meats can be accompanied by a sauce of your choice, and various sides and vegetables (we recommend the potato tarte Tatin). Don’t think you are done: next up are desserts like dark chocolate soufflé and Baked Alaska. Complement your meal with selections from the expert wine program. Enjoy a cocktail and an abbreviated “Rough Cuts” menu at the adjacent CUT Lounge.

THEBlvd at the Beverly Wilshire

Located at one of the most luxurious intersections in Beverly Hills, THE Blvd is a great people-watching spot with its terrace on Wilshire Boulevard and its large windows. The restaurant is quite stunning and hosts a chic and happy clientele.THEBlvd’s menu offers local California fare and fanciful cocktails. It is the perfect spot to enjoy a leisurely breakfast, a power lunch, a late afternoon cocktail, or an exciting evening out on the town while taking in the see-and-be-seen ambiance.

Dinner could start with dishes like grilled vegetable terrine and country bread or the falafel croquettes and then move to branzino en papillote or bucatini with duck prosciutto. A warm chocolate tart and beignets may await dessert. The unobtrusive service is well polished and with the help of the sommelier, it won’t be difficult to pick the right pairing among the thousand-plus bottles on display.
