Sapa

An experience to remeber

Located at the heart of Beirut city, in a 100-year-old villa, SAPA is a Peruvian restaurant and cocktail bar. The menu at SAPA is a delightful take on Peruvian cuisine with international influence, that will guide you across centuries of marvelous gastronomy.

SAPA welcomes you every night for weeklong live entertainment with exclusive bands and resident DJs. Whether you are here for the Peruvian dishes, the Pisco cocktails, or the live performances, SAPA is certain to conquer you and all your senses.

Sapa is the sister venue of Cinco, a stylish Peruvian restaurant and cocktail bar. The restaurant serves delectable Peruvian dishes, exquisitely presented and ideal for sharing. The space is divided into a dining room and lounge bar and there is also a great range of Peruvian drinks available. This place is Pisco central. Pisco is a traditional Peruvian spirit – so you’re all but obligated to try one of their superb Pisco sours or branch out and try another inventive Peruvian cocktail. Their house Pisco is well worth sampling and the drinks are impeccably presented, some decorated with flower petals and herbs. The room too is lovely to look at with pale walls and warm wood, atmospherically lit. The staff is efficient and knowledgeable, the food tasty – zingy ceviches and other South American delights – and the vibe are convivial and appealing. Peruvian cuisine lovers (yours truly included) will be able to find such dishes as Ceviches and Causas but would do well to anticipate a distinctly trendy twist to these items. Sapa Causas look more like Maki rolls than the potato lumps sold on the streets of Arequipa. That said, Beirut’s Sapa and Peru’s cuisine have one major thing in common: the exquisite taste of their food.

Cocktails at Sapa also live up to the hype. Do not miss their Pisco Sour (the national drink in Peru) and don’t you dare skimp on the egg whites! You’ll have to try it to understand what I mean. Named an Inca Emperor, Sapa, which means “the only one” seems well on its way to becoming one of Beirut’s staple locales for those seeking good food, good drinks, and good vibes.
