You come here to enjoy the hotel, pool, and private beach, but if you want to explore, Mykonos Town is less than half an hour away by free hotel shuttle. Two of Mykonos’s legendary clubbing beaches, Cavo Paradiso and Super Paradise, are within a few miles by water taxi or around 30 minutes by car. The beach is a short, free shuttle ride down the hill.
With the emphasis firmly on natural materials, all of the furniture is locally made and includes beautiful loungers and chairs carved from single pieces of wood and stone washbasins. Rooms are set off whitewashed, open corridors and staircases which weave through the hillside, making the layout reminiscent of the tiny streets of Mykonos Town. It’s light and airy and almost all of the communal spaces are indoor/outdoor. The infinity pool and suspended ‘beach’ a sand-covered terrace with circular daybeds, driftwood, and views through glass barriers add to the natural ambiance.
Every room overlooks the bay and continues the theme of natural materials. Each comes with a huge wooden-framed bed dressed with soft macramé blankets and matching macramé lobster cushions. Many have open bathrooms (with the shower and toilet discreetly tucked away) some have freestanding granite baths. All rooms have a furnished terrace or balcony, some also have private infinity pools and/or hot tubs. There’s also a villa for up to 13 people which has a small kitchen and a barbecue area. Black/grey bathrooms come with enormous rain head showers and natural stone basins, plus Molton Brown and Prija toiletries. Other features include Bluetooth speakers and a complimentary bottle of Muscat.
The Pavilion Restaurant
Located on the terrace overlooking the sea, offering traditional Greek dishes which are reimagined and beautifully presented. There’s plenty of local seafood on the menu as well as salads, risotto, pasta, lamb, and beef. Desserts include traditional options such as sweet dumplings with cardamom ice cream as well as bitter chocolate mousse and baked peaches. I enjoyed grilled octopus, followed by seabass fillets with a very flavourful Greek yogurt and beluga lentil salad.
Breakfast is a huge buffet with all the usual hot options and omelets cooked to order, as well as pastries, fresh fruit, a wide range of cold meats and cheeses, and a large gluten-free section. There’s also a pool bar.
The spa features three thalassotherapy pools with natural seawater and offers Elemis and St Barth treatments in three treatment rooms, including one double. There’s a small but perfectly formed infinity pool with a pretty floor inlaid with spotlights that twinkle at night. The hotel’s drivers will take you to and from the private beach or Mykonos Town free of charge. Service is friendly and polite with all front-of-house staff speaking excellent English and often greeting their guests by name.
