Hotel Bel Air

An experience to remeber

Hotel Bel Air

A legendary LA estate amongst the famous canyon hills, untouched by the clamour of life beyond the gates of Bel-Air. A 12-acre paradise of sophisticated enchantment, delivering low-key elegance since 1946. No roar, no fanfare. A stillness. The hotel waits quietly. And then the birdsong, the lake, the familiar bridge to this world within a world. Tropical greenery fills your vision and the swans glide on. The birthplace of the Bel-Air community – LA’s ultimate enclave of rarified exclusivity Hotel Bel-Air has been the legendary setting for countless Hollywood moments. A 12-acre paradise styled as a private residence. A Californian oasis of relaxation and indulgence. A place of sweet splendor at its very best. Beautiful white swans call the lake home, and together they embody the romance, grace, and elegance of Hotel Bel-Air. A secret paradise 483 specimen trees and more than 4,000 plants surround paths that weave you through the hotel grounds like an intriguing secret. Here in the exclusive neighborhood of Bel-Air, built high in the canyons of Los Angeles. Above the rest, in every way imaginable.

Originally built as a stable complex by Bel-Air founder and tennis champion Alphonzo Bell in 1922, this bougainvillea-clad hotel once hosted Audrey Hepburn, Princess Grace of Monaco, and Marilyn Monroe. Taken over by the Dorchester Group, with renovations overseen by Claridge’s interior designer Alexandra Champalimaud, the Bel-Air has since regained its reputation as LA’s most elite and sedate hotel, combining the hushed air of a Positano monastic retreat with old-world grandeur of Art Deco interiors and state-of-the-art room technology. Romance abounds with hummingbirds flitting in and out of palm trees, redwoods, Italianate fountains, hidden piazzas, and the feeling that the winding pathways might lead you anywhere.

The transformative power of relaxation lasts far beyond the spa experience itself. Join for some truly quiet time away from the cares of the world at the Hotel Bel-Air Spa where Valmont treatments blend nature and science to achieve powerful results. This five-star hotel is the only one permitted in the exclusive neighborhood of Bel-Air – home to the likes of Beyonce and Jay-Z – and nestled by Stone Canyon in the foothills of the Santa Monica mountains where house-high hedges and a lack of pavements on the the winding roads are geared to extreme privacy. Here, contemporary Los Angeles feels a continent away. In fact, West Hollywood is only a 15-minute drive, and the Getty Museum is only ten.

Bar & Lounge

A taste of long-lost glamour, the glow of modern sophistication. That incredible fireplace, the sleek grand piano, and an air of exclusive delight.

The pool area

The oval-shaped pool is one of the last places Marilyn Monroe was photographed before her death. What used to be a horse stable is now the resting place of celebrities and their hangers-on. Full bar and food service are by Wolfgang Puck, and when it gets really hot, the hotel staff comes out with ice cream sundaes, Push Pops, slushies, and other delicious treats for guests. The signature oval-shaped pool is heated to 82 degrees all year round. Once a former horse-riding ring for the Bel-Air Stables, hence its distinctive shape, the swimming pool is picturesquely framed by hanging palms and cascading blooms.
