La Reserve Geneva

An experience to remeber

The hotel is situated just outside Geneva on tranquil private grounds on the lake’s right bank, with fabulous views of the mountains on the other side. Is just a short scenic boat ride that you will really enjoy especially during the summer months.

La Réserve Genève – Hotel, Spa, and Villa is an extraordinary haven where you can meet with your loved ones and enjoy the rare privilege of experiencing unforgettable moments. Everyone at their own pace, according to their individual desires. Between the lake and the mountains, nothing matters except the pleasure of simply living your best life, without having to organize or plan anything, as everything is already on hand: four restaurants, the Spa Nescens, outdoor and indoor swimming pools, Kid’s Club, sports facilities, a range of à la carte activities.

At La Réserve Genève – Hotel, Spa, and Villa, the aim is not to chase time, but instead to infuse it with an intense and vibrant new dimension. Combining the style of an African game reserve with the Swiss tradition of luxury health retreats, this peaceful place overlooking Lake Geneva allows guests to cocoon themselves away from the world and reap the benefits of anti-aging spa treatments, high-quality food, and lakeside relaxation. The hotel lobby sets the tone. La Reserve Geneva offers an enchanting and warm atmosphere, set in luxurious dark woods. The decoration is based on the codes of a sumptuous African lodge orchestrated around brown, red and golden tones, punctuated by touches of purple. Jacques Garcia’s hushed and elitist identity dominates while a signature fragrance perfumes the surrounding air. Nothing is left to chance, visually as in terms of fragrances. It may feel incongruous to have a Swiss hotel fashion itself like a game lodge in colonial Africa, but with so many grand old hotels offering traditional luxury in Geneva it’s refreshing to find this contemporary resort with an alternative sense of style. The sprawling, low-rise building is little to look at from the outside, but the interior is delightful: a color palette of dark red, purple, ochre, and green, dark-wood flooring, animal-print rugs, colorful silhouettes of exotic birds on the light fittings and a large sculpture of an elephant – the resort’s symbol. The only departure from the theme is the Chinese restaurant Tsé Fung, which takes guests to the opulent Oriental instead.

Facilities are copious. Inside there are two restaurants and a bar serving cocktails, sushi, and tapas. Downstairs the Nescens spa offers an indoor pool, sauna, hammam, a café serving healthy, low-calorie food, and a range of treatment options aiming to roll back the years – probably helped by the experience of spending a few relaxing days here being waited on by attentive, friendly staff. But the real trump card of this place is its green space. An outdoor swimming pool, a children’s play area, an ice rink in winter, and an alfresco restaurant in summer: all significantly extend the guest experience, turning it into a resort worth lingering in.

Rooms

The rooms continue the colonial theme and are comfy and homely, with bookcases, complimentary biscuits, tea, and coffee-making facilities, and a vast selection of pillows on request (filled with hops, rose petals, or St John’s Wort, among others). Most have an outdoor terrace with chairs or loungers – opt for a Lake Suite for views over Lac Léman. As well to the main building the resort has a truly impressive private villa for hire: right by the lake next to the dock, it’s a huge, glass-fronted, contemporary space, beautifully designed for both views and privacy, which comes with its own housekeeper and an undoubtedly peaceful night’s sleep.

Like any true aesthete, revel in the privilege of ultimate comfort

Each infused with a unique air of subtle distinction, the 29 suites and 73 rooms of La Réserve Genève interpret the refined style of African lodges. A decor that gives free rein to the imagination, like an intensely personal travel diary. All are generously sized and feature wide picture windows, and some lead onto a patio giving direct access to the grounds and the swimming pool. A choice of pillows, cotton sateen bed linen, a wealth of velvet and linen fabrics, black granite-tiled bathrooms, and the nobility of natural materials.

La Réserve Genève rolls out the red carpet for its mini-guests aged 6 months to 12 years. The first surprises are the jungle-themed rooms featuring lion mats and teepees, huts and animals, all kinds of games, and soft toy pillows. Young explorers and adventurers will be thrilled and constantly dreaming up imaginary stories in this enchanted universe.

Sports & Fitness

The Nescens Spa offers members and La Réserve Genève hotel guests two swimming pools, hammams, saunas, various indoor and outdoor fitness areas, as well as two tennis courts, including one that is covered in winter. In addition to the comprehensive amenities, coaches are on hand at all times to design personalized programs based on your needs and aims in order to monitor and hone your performance. The fitness studios are fully equipped with state-of-the-art exercise equipment from Technogym and Kinesis, storing your data on a personal memory key so we can evaluate your progress after each session and over time. A Functional Zone complements them.

Take your pick of two glittering, heated pools in which to float your cares away: an indoor pool and a family-friendly outdoor pool. The pool is really beautiful. I appreciated the warmth of the place. Even when you get out of the water, you won’t get cold because the space is very well heated. The chairs and deck chairs around the pool are very comfortable. The space is very quiet and clean. If you want to do a little sport, friendly coaches are waiting for you in the fitness area, which is very well equipped with Technogym brand equipment. Finally, if you want a moment of absolute relaxation, do as we did and book a treatment in a cabin! The professionalism of the therapists combined with the quality of the products used made us have a really pleasant time, as you can discover in our article on the Nescens spa at La Reserve Geneva. Take part in all kinds of watersports on the lake, perfect your backhand at tennis on the private indoor or outdoor courts of La Réserve Genève, work on your cardio in the fitness room, glide down the slopes of the Alps, go hiking in the nearby Jura, sail or wake-surf on the lake from the private pontoon, play golf with a view of Lake Geneva.  La Réserve Genève represents an ideal base camp for enjoying nature to the full and exploring new sporting sensations with your family. It’s a great way to recharge your batteries and turn stress into a distant memory.

Other facilities include a heated indoor swimming pool, a hairdresser’s salon, a state-of-the-art fitness area, as well as a sauna and hammam located in the men’s and women’s changing rooms.

You can also enjoy the outdoor swimming pool and the tennis court.

If you want to go downtown, a boat (more precisely a motoscafo) directly accessible from the hotel’s pontoon brings you to Geneva’s city center in 10 minutes. This is an ecological and fast way to get around. In winter, the outdoor swimming pool is a delight for sliding enthusiasts as it transforms into a large skating rink.

La Reserve is an ideal hotel for a family or couple to stay a few minutes away from Geneva. In this green haven of peace, we particularly enjoyed the refined charm of the place, as well as the quality of the restaurants and spas. The service is very professional, attentive, and efficient. You will notice the attention to detail and the many small attention paid to make your stay unforgettable. It is all these little details put together that make a stay at La Reserve a unique hotel experience. There is a peaceful and serene atmosphere in all the hotel’s areas. Everything is very cozy, punctuated by notes of exoticism and naturalness. Art lovers will appreciate the many artworks displayed everywhere, indoors and outdoors.

Restaurants

Chef Virginie Basselot serves contemporary French cuisine in Le Loti, with a particular emphasis on fish and seafood. Dishes are light, delicate, and beautiful to look at, with some interesting flavor combinations such as a grilled tuna starter with tangy, refreshing green apple and cucumber. Downstairs in Tsé Fung, chef Frank Xu has earned a Michelin star for his Cantonese cuisine including salt-baked chicken flambéed at the table in a pleasing act of theatre, flavor-packed red rice and prawn rolls, and light, fluffy, fragrant fried rice. The drinks list in both restaurants includes wines from La Réserve owner Michel Reybier’s vineyards in France and Hungary.

Breakfast – served in the bar on strangely uncomfortable low chairs – has all the usual buffet items plus a menu of eggs, pancakes, homemade hot chocolate, and more. Gluten-free items are available.

LE LOTI

New get-away destination

In 2021, Michel Reybier wished to reinvent Le Loti at La Réserve Genève in order to tell another story. The new Restaurant & Bar area has been totally redesigned to create a single universe, which extends onto the terrace and blurs the boundaries between indoors and outdoors.

The decor conjures up a fabled ‘elsewhere’, a blend of distant influences joyfully intertwined by Jacques Garcia. In this dreamlike travel journal, blue, beige, and ochre create a soft and luminous atmosphere that continues outside. Everywhere, the mysterious jungle atmosphere dotted with ferns and exotic flowers invades the premises, under the attentive gaze of the legendary parrots.

GOURMET ROUND-THE-WORLD JOURNEY

An insatiable traveler driven by a keen curiosity about other cultures, The Loti Restaurant & Bar offers you an eclectic new menu featuring top-notch culinary specialties from around the world. The menu has plenty to suit everyone for lunch and dinner – a real feat given that everything is homemade and prepared to order, based on uncompromising produce sourcing. The overarching themes are absolute freshness and a focus on local origins, with exclusively Swiss meats and priority given to regional vegetables…It is also at the Loti that you can have your breakfast. It is served as a buffet with the possibility to order eggs cooked in different ways on top of that. The pastries are very diverse with a praline brioche and a very good quality Swiss bread. A wide assortment of deli meats is also available, with some local cheeses and hot dishes. The essentials for a good start to the day are present on this buffet.

LE TSÉ FUNG

The Tsé Fung, the only Michelin-starred Chinese restaurant in Switzerland, offers a new menu by Frank Xu.

In just a few months, Frank Xu successfully elevated Cantonese cuisine to haute gastronomy status at a major Parisian establishment. Today, he looks forward to introducing people to his cuisine at La Réserve Genève. Originally from Shenzhen, representing the third generation of a family of chefs and with more than 30 years’ experience behind him, he presents a menu offering Tsé Fung classics revisited with great subtlety alongside the best of Cantonese cuisine. Roasting will play a key role in cooking methods. The result will be a range of precisely flavored spicy gourmet dishes displaying scrupulous respect for tradition and embodying the peak of culinary refinement.

The décor of red velvet, black lacquer, and silk hangings has been further enhanced and continues to take diners back to the atmosphere of a 1930s Shanghai grand palace hotel. The Tsé Fung teams look forward to welcoming you, whether in the main restaurant, in private rooms for total peace, or on the terrace offering a wonderful view over the Alps and Lake Léman.

▪️ LE CAFÉ LAUREN

The Spa restaurant

A delightful, intimate space with a plush, light-filled atmosphere. Just 25 seats to maintain the quiet serenity of the setting. The teak terrace invites you to enjoy a relaxing interlude with the arrival of the warm, sunny weather.

Nathalie Nguyen Thi shares her delicious concept of healthy cooking, in harmony with all the benefits of the Spa. It reflects her love for light, intensely flavored dishes.

At the Café Lauren, fats are banned – only delicate, delicious olive oil is used. And each dish is meticulously prepared to achieve the perfect balance between greater pleasure and fewer calories. For desserts, refined sugar is replaced by raw sugar.

A unique meal at Le Café Lauren is its special breakfast entirely tailored to your well-being: whole wheat bread, seasonal fruit jam with no added sugar, tea-infused prune, a delicious smoothy different each day… to a healthy start.
