Giraffe

An experience to remeber

The Girafe Paris Restaurant provides an upscale dining experience with an amazing view overlooking the Eiffel tower.

Located right on Trocadero in Paris, this restaurant is perfect for a special occasion or to celebrate an event or an anniversary.

Nestled in the heart of the Cité de l’Architecture in Paris, Girafe is all about old-fashioned gestures, precise and friendly service, seafood and fish from our coast.
Imagined by Joseph Dirand in the spirit of the 1930s, Girafe is a hushed décor, with cream-coloured banquettes, a marble bar, tropical plants and original pilasters… a style of dining, a mixture of allure, unexpectedness and carefree spirit in a very Parisian style. Not to mention a ravishing terrace, one-on-one with the Eiffel Tower.

The table at Girafe is a mixture of simplicity and opulence, of gourmandise and beautiful urbanity. In the style of seahouse Paris, fish, shellfish and crustaceans are prepared in all their forms. From the most classic: in ultra-fresh platters, in raw versions in the form of ceviche and other sashimi, but also skilfully gilded (lobster, sole, turbot…), changing according to the arrivals.

The service at Girafe was excellent, starting with the reservation. I asked for a good table on the terrace because I wanted a perfect view of the Eiffel tower, and we got it! We were promptly seated at an outside table right in the middle of the terrace, and our waiter came right away as well to service us.

Our waiter was both polite and very knowledgeable about the dinner menu options. I had a few questions about some of the menu items and they were able to explain to me what they were and advise which wines would pair well with them.

The waiters are well dressed and attentive, attending to your every need when you ask them to. This is not typical of many Parisian restaurants, so I was impressed.

As we were sitting down, we were given a set of menus and a wine list. We ordered some cocktails while looking over the menu to decide what to eat. I went for a classic Aperol spritz, and my friends ordered mojitos. Both were delicious, and the presentation was very good as well.

Food

After I ordered my drinks, I was brought out a basket of bread, with three different types of accompaniments to put on top: white bean puree, olive tapenade, and hummus. The bread was warm and soft inside and the accompaniments were delicious.

We ordered a variety of dishes to share, including an appetizer platter of oysters to start. I also decided on the calamari, followed by the steak filet for my main dish. The oysters were very fresh and delicious. The meat was tender and juicy, and the two side dishes of mashed potatoes and green beans I chose went perfectly with my steak. For dessert, I decided to split the tarte au chocolat-caramel beurre salé (chocolate-salted caramel tart, yum) and it was absolutely amazing!

The tart was wonderful, with a crispy shell and a warm gooey center. The ice cream served with it was rich and creamy as well, going beautifully with the tart.

Note: I had another dinner reservation at another restaurant for later that night, but after eating the food here I didn’t want to eat anywhere else! Everything here was so delicious, I think this may have been the best meal I’ve ever had!

I had a fantastic time at Girafe, and I think it’s worth checking out if you are ever in Paris! It’s an upscale restaurant with amazing service, exquisite food, and an unforgettable view.
