Les Passages Couverts are beautiful covered passageways with glass ceilings in the Galerie Vivienne which is a department store. These were some of the first modern department stores and honestly, things have gone downhill from there.
You can walk through these beautiful works of art and window shops which almost always leads to real shopping and eventually spending money.
