One of the city’s grandest hotels, Palazzo Parigi is all glittering chandeliers, antiques and precious works of art. The elegant rooms are decorated in natural tones, service is excellent.
It’s a stone’s throw away from the artistic district of Brera, one of the city’s most attractive areas with pretty cobbled streets dotted with quirky boutiques and lively restaurants. You’re also a short walk away from Milan’s Fashion District, lined with top designer fashion boutiques, while the city’s Porta Nuova financial district is a 15-minute walk away.
Grand and opulent, the interiors combine the best of Parisian and Milanese design, paying homage to the city’s numerous architectural delights. Pink Baveno marble columns recall Milan’s La Scala Opera House, the parquet floors of the bar take inspiration from the drawing room of the city’s Villa Reale, while the large skylight echoes the design of the nearby Galleria Vittorio Emanuele, Milan’s sumptuous shopping arcade. High ceilings add a sense of grandeur, while antiques, precious artworks and intricate woodwork are found throughout the property.
Service is very good, with professional staff providing swift and efficient service and organizing anything and everything for guests, including access to sold-out tickets at La Scala Opera House. Facilities are also very good, with an outstanding spa, a sumptuous first floor ballroom, three meeting rooms, and a pleasant private garden shaded by large trees, including linden and horse chestnuts, a peaceful spot to enjoy breakfast, afternoon tea or an aperitif.
The lavishly decorated rooms are fitted with antique furniture, sculptures and works of art, from French 19th-century oil paintings to Art Nouveau marble statues. They’re elegant, comfortable and inviting, decorated with natural tones and benefitting from abundant natural light. Rooms are either Milanese or Parisian in décor: the former are more contemporary, with cream-coloured furnishings complemented by natural wooden fittings, while Parisian rooms are more classic in style, embellished with oriental vases. The pearl-coloured bathrooms are spacious and elegant, and are equipped with Clarins amenities.
The restaurant serves Italian cuisine along with Milanese specialities (risotto alla Milanese, veal cutlet, ossobuco) in a welcoming dining room that aims to recall Italian design of the 1940s and 1950s (vintage-style leather chairs; checkered carpets); meals, drinks and afternoon tea can also be enjoyed al fresco in the leafy garden. Buffet breakfast is a spread of fruits, cold cuts, cheeses, pastries, and hot dishes made to order.
